BOSTON — The Patriots have made an upgrade to their secondary. According to NFL Network, the Pats have agreed to a one-year, nine-million-dollar deal with free agent safety Kevin Byard the Third. The 32-year-old is once again playing for head coach Mike Vrabel, who he spent six years with as a member of the Tennessee Titans. Byard led the NFL with seven interceptions while playing for the Chicago Bears last season. He has also played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Cardinals officially parted ways with quarterback Kyler Murray at the start of the new league year on Wednesday.
Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson will avoid jail after he pleaded guilty to driving while drunk. He was sentenced to serve 30 hours of community service. Peterson was arrested last April in Richfield, Minnesota when he was going 30 miles over the speed limit. The seven-time Pro Bowl running back also failed a roadside breathalyzer test.
The NFL is considering adding a game on Thanksgiving Eve as part of its expanding holiday schedule. ESPN reports the move could come as early as the 2026 season. The proposal would continue the NFL’s recent push to stage games around major holidays. The league introduced Black Friday games starting in the 2023 season and has begun scheduling multiple Christmas Day matchups. If approved, the change would create a nine-day stretch with NFL games played on seven days.
