Oregon Council Reallocates Funds to Cover Street Department Overtime

OREGON — The Oregon City Council unanimously approved reallocating funds within the street and alley budget to address higher-than-expected overtime costs caused by heavy snowfall, storms, and water main breaks this winter. The action shifts money from the street and alley contingency line to personnel services overtime without increasing overall appropriations, allowing the city to remain within legal spending limits through the end of the fiscal year. Oregon Mayor Ken Williams said the adjustment was recommended by auditors for transparency and accounting purposes.

”We added the contingency in that street department line item and we should have had more for overtime,” Williams said.
