Ogle County Time Capsule Project Planned To Mark 250 Years Since Declaration Of Independence

OREGON — The Ogle County Historical Society is organizing a countywide time capsule project to mark 250 years since the Declaration of Independence and is inviting residents to submit one page letters reflecting on their thoughts, memories, or hopes for future generations. Collection sites will include libraries, senior centers, the Ogle County Clerk office, and the historical society, with submissions accepted on standard paper either handwritten or typed and due by July 10. Organizers plan to sort the letters by community before placing them in a red white and blue time capsule to be buried at the historical society grounds in front of the Ruby Nash House in Oregon, with a dedication date to be announced.
