OREGON — An Ogle County jury is set to resume deliberations Wednesday in the murder trial of Duane Meyer, who is accused of allegedly starting a fire at a Byron home in October 2016 that killed his ex wife Margaret Meyer and their three year old son Amos. Jurors began deliberations Monday afternoon and continued Tuesday, when they submitted questions to the judge about whether Meyer’s police interview should be considered testimony. Prosecutors say evidence shows motive and places Meyer near the scene, while the defense argues the case is circumstantial.
