OREGON — The Ogle County Clerk’s Office is short on election judges for the General Primary Election on Tuesday, March 17, and is asking residents to volunteer. Clerk Becky Duke said volunteers would work with experienced judges at polling places across the county, noting that “We definitely are looking for volunteers for judges. We say volunteers but you do actually get paid for it.”
Judges must live in Ogle County and are required to arrive by 5 a.m., work until 7 p.m., and help close the polls. Duke said each polling place typically needs four to five judges from both parties, but some locations are short by two or three.
She encouraged anyone interested to contact the clerk’s office at 815-732-1110 or countyclerk@oglecountyil.gov and said training and applications will be provided, adding, “We would be very, very thankful if you could help us.”
