Ogle County Board Updates Historic Projects and Awards Renovation Contract

OREGON — The Ogle County Board last Tuesday announced the completion of the Historic Courthouse Roofing Project, with scaffolding slowly being removed and final work by Larson & Darby Group coming in about $20,000 under the original bid. The Memorial Plaza Project, fully funded by grants, is moving forward with a pre-bid meeting scheduled for February 20, and official bid openings set for March 5. The project, on the south side of the historic Courthouse, will feature a circular “Path of Honor” sidewalk, a 10-foot bronze eagle on a pedestal with LED lighting, seating areas, and a time capsule placed by the Ogle County Historical Society. The board also approved the Veterans Assistance Commission and Animal Control Renovation, awarding the contract to NiCam Construction for a $294,500 base bid plus a $38,000 contingency to modernize the joint facility and improve animal shelter conditions.
