CHICAGO — Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs recognized several Illinois leaders during a Women’s History Month event in Chicago, including the head of Northern Illinois Food Bank. Julie Yurko, president and chief executive officer of Northern Illinois Food Bank, received the Outstanding Commitment to Community Service award for her leadership in addressing hunger and supporting food distribution across northern Illinois. The event honored eight women from different fields for their work in business, education, government, community service and the arts. The ceremony was held at the Illinois Room in downtown Chicago and highlighted the impact women have made in improving communities across the state.
