ROCHELLE - A delay in the pond project due to a bid issue ended up saving Rochelle Township High School some money. At the Monday night board meeting, the bid was awarded to Law Excavating Inc. out of Mt. Carrol. Originally slated to start a few weeks ago, the project had to reject all bids and be put out for rebid due to an error in how it was written. The accepted bid of $311,307.50 was around $20,000 less than the first round of bids. The project will be to expand the pond and help alleviate flooding near the athletic fields. They hope to have the project completed by the end of the summer.
