SYCAMORE — The DeKalb County Community Foundation has established the Ryan Charles Hill Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor the heart, humor, and community spirit of lifelong Sycamore resident Ryan “Vern” Hill, who passed in September 2025. The scholarship will be awarded each spring to a Sycamore High School senior who reflects Ryan’s qualities of kindness, inclusivity, humility, and the ability to make others feel welcome. A 1991 graduate, Ryan was a three-sport athlete and lifelong community supporter known for his loyalty, humor, and devotion to friends and family. The fund, made possible by donations from family, friends, and neighbors, will provide a lasting legacy for Ryan while supporting future graduates. The first recipient will be announced at Sycamore High School’s Awards Night in spring 2026.
