Illinois Moves On To The Elite 8 In The Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament

Illinois is 1 win away from going to the Final 4 in the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament following a 65-55 win Thursday night over Houston in the South Region.

It will be a all Big 10 game on Saturday night as the Illini will play Iowa. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:09.

Iowa advanced to the Elite 8 with a 77-71 win over Nebraska.

Illinois led 24-22 at half against Houston. They put the game away thanks to a 17-0 run in the second half to take a 44-26 lead.

David Mirkovic led the Illini with 14 points and 10 rebounds. All-American guard Keaton Wagler had 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Illinois moves on to the Elite 8 for the second time in 3 years. It is the 11th time in the program.
