Illinois Libraries To Administer Opioid Overdose Reversal Agents

SPRINGFIELD –  Public libraries in Illinois will soon have opioid overdose reversal agents on hand.  The Illinois Department of Public Health added public libraries to the list of locations allowed to let trained staff members administer agents in the event of a suspected overdose on the property.  The revised standing order will make it easier for libraries to comply with new provisions of the Illinois Local Library Act, which takes effect on January 1st.
