SPRINGFIELD — Illinois has received an “A” grade from Shared Hope International’s Just Like Me Report Cards, rising from an “F” after passing the Illinois Statewide Trauma-Informed Response to Human Trafficking Act. The law establishes a coordinated, statewide plan to identify and support trafficking survivors through consistent training, screening, and service standards. Illinois now ranks second in the nation for survivor-focused policies. The act strengthens cooperation among law enforcement, state agencies, and advocacy groups, while creating the Illinois Trafficking Enforcement Group to expand anti-trafficking efforts.
