Illinois Attorney General Secures $300,000 Settlement Over No-Poach Agreement

CHICAGO – Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul reached a $300,000 settlement with temporary staffing agency Surestaff LLC over allegations the company entered into a no-poach agreement with other staffing agencies. The settlement, pending court approval, will compensate impacted temporary workers and requires Surestaff to allow employees to seek work freely and implement compliance measures to prevent future violations. The lawsuit, filed in 2022, claimed Surestaff and other agencies, with the help of Vee Pak LLC, limited wages and job opportunities for temporary workers. Similar cases against other staffing agencies remain pending, and Raoul’s office has previously secured settlements totaling more than $595,000 in related cases.
