HINCKLEY — A 57-year-old Sandwich man was cited after a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Somonauk Road and McGirr Road Wednesday afternoon. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says the Sandwich man was driving southbound when his vehicle allegedly crossed the center line and struck a northbound trailer pulled by a pickup driven by a 68-year-old Maple Park man. A 67-year-old passenger was also in the vehicle. The Sandwich man’s vehicle then entered a ditch and rolled. That individual was not injured, but the Maple Park driver and his passenger were transported by the Hinckley Fire Department to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital with minor injuries. The Sandwich man was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
