HILLCREST – Before the regular board meeting in Hillcrest on Wednesday night, Village President Richard Rhoads announced his resignation. He first joined as a trustee in 2019 and was appointed Village President in 2022. Trustee Dan Potter was selected as ProTem President, who will serve until the next election this fall. He was advised by village attorney Paul Chadwick that he could resign his trustee seat and take the president role, or remain ProTem and maintain his trustee seat. Potter said he intends to maintain his role as a trustee.
Also resigning her seat was trustee Eileen Braski, who said she was moving to another community. Braski was first appointed in May of 2023.

Trustee and ProTem President Potter was hopeful for more involvement from the remaining trustees.
“I would like to have more input from the other trustees rather than just sitting there and saying ‘yeah, whatever,” he noted. “I would really like some input because the trustees are going to be determining the direction of the village and without any input, I don’t want it to be all on me.”
