Haines Family Establishes Fund to Support Local Organizations

SYCAMORE – The DeKalb County Community Foundation announced the creation of the Michael and Lana Haines Fund, a designated fund providing long-term support to local organizations the Haines family values. The fund benefits the Voluntary Action Center in DeKalb, CASA DeKalb County in Sycamore, and the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District. Michael Haines, a retired NIU administrator, and Lana Haines, a retired teacher, have lived in rural Kingston for more than 40 years and remain active in community projects. Contributions to the fund support its charitable missions and do not provide financial benefit to the family. Donations can be made online at dekalbccf.org or by mail to the Community Foundation in Sycamore.
