Governor Pritzker Signs Bill to Bridge Gaps Between Body Camera and Dash Cam Laws

SPRINGFIELD – Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a bill into law aimed at resolving differences between police officer body camera and Illinois State Police dash camera laws. The new measure clarifies that if a victim or witness of a crime requests a trooper to turn off their body camera, the officer must inform them that the vehicle’s dash camera will continue to record.
