Gas Prices Hold Steady as Thanksgiving Travel Begins

WASHINGTON DC –  Gas prices remain mostly steady ahead of the busy Thanksgiving travel period, with the national average for regular gasoline at $3.10, up slightly from $3.08 last week, according to the American Automobile Association. Strong holiday travel is expected, but demand is usually low in late fall, helping hold prices down along with low crude oil costs and no major storms affecting Gulf Coast refineries. The national average was $3.04 a month ago and $3.07 a year ago, while current averages are $3.01 in Ogle County, $3.10 in Lee County, and $3.15 in DeKalb County.
