Four Injured in Two Vehicle Crash in Lee County

STERLING — Several teens and a 52-year-old woman were injured following a two vehicle crash at Palmyra Road and Carriage Hill Drive Wednesday, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say an SUV driven by a 52-year-old Sterling woman was traveling northbound on Carriage Hill Drive and attempting to turn onto Palmyra Road when it allegedly collided with a passenger vehicle driven by a 16-year-old from Mount Morris traveling eastbound on Palmyra Road around 11:30 a.m. Authorities say the SUV driver and two passengers in the passenger vehicle were taken to Northwestern Medicine CGH Medical Center, while the Mt. Morris driver was airlifted to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. The crash remains under investigation.
