ROCKFORD – A 36-year-old former Rockford security guard is convicted of killing a man outside an apartment complex ten years ago. Ryan Mattingly was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Jovan Fresco. Authorities say Fresco was shot and killed in April 2016 during a confrontation between Mattingly and another Metro Enforcement security guard near the Auburn Manor complex in Rockford. Mattingly is due back in court in May. The case against the other security guard is pending.
