FDA Expands Shrimp Recall Over Radioactive Concerns

CHICAGO – The FDA is expanding a frozen shrimp recall for potential radioactive contamination. According to the agency, more than 83-thousand bags of shrimp sold at stores including Price Chopper, Jewel-Osco, Albertsons, Safeway and Lucky Supermarket, may have come in contact with the radioactive substance Cesium-137. Impacted shrimp was on the shelves in states including Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York and Pennsylvania. Customers who purchased the affected shrimp are asked to throw it away or return it to the store.
