SANDWICH — Two drivers were injured in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Chicago Road and West Sandwich Road Thursday morning. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said a vehicle driven by a Waterman teenager was stopped northbound on West Sandwich Road and allegedly failed to yield before entering the intersection, where it was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 42-year-old DeKalb woman. Authorities said the DeKalb driver attempted to brake but could not avoid the collision. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Both drivers were transported to Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital with minor injuries. The Waterman teen was issued a citation.
