Dixon Firefighters Rescue Dog From Early Morning House Fire

DIXON — Dixon City Fire, Dixon Rural Fire, and Advance EMS responded to a structure fire at 920 W. 4th St. early Wednesday morning and rescued a pet. Crews arrived around 6:40 a.m. to find smoke coming from the attic and eaves of the two-story home. All occupants had evacuated, but a dog remained inside and was rescued by firefighters. The fire was brought under control by 7:11 a.m., and no injuries were reported. Authorities determined the fire reportedly started from an electrical space heater. Assistance was provided by Dixon Police, Polo, Oregon, and Sterling fire departments, and CGH EMS.
