DEKALB — A 30 year old DeKalb man has been charged with first degree murder after a 5 month old infant died from severe injuries. DeKalb Police responded Monday at about 4:19 p.m. to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital for a report of an injured child who was later airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center with a skull fracture and brain hemorrhages. The child was pronounced deceased Tuesday at about 5:45 p.m. Authorities said the infant’s father, Dominic G. Larson of DeKalb, was taken into custody at the hospital after deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office reported he appeared intoxicated and allegedly failed to follow orders. The DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges including First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery.
