DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council approved multiple measures to support the 2026 Corn Fest, including a special event agreement, a liquor license, and traffic regulations for the annual downtown festival. The agreement allows DeKalb Corn Fest Inc to hold the event in the central business district and outlines requirements for insurance and operations, while the liquor license permits alcohol sales in designated areas during the event. The council also approved a plan to close Illinois Route 38 between First Street and Fourth Street from August 27 through August 30 to allow for the festival. Organizers are also seeking volunteers to help with event operations.
