Davis Junction Board Approves Outdoor Seating Plan for DJ Liquors

DAVIS JUNCTION — The Davis Junction Village Board on Tuesday night approved zoning relief allowing DJ Liquors, located in a strip mall on North Junction Way, to add a seasonal outdoor seating area despite the business having only one entrance. Trustees granted a special use permit for liquor service outdoors and a variance permitting direct access to the fenced seating area from outside, which is normally prohibited under village code. The plan calls for a temporary, three to four-table fenced area in front of the store, in place only from April through early November, with required video monitoring and future fence-permit review by village staff. The board also discussed fire safety, ADA clearance and annual permitting concerns before voting 4-2 to approve.
