ROCHELLE — The Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser is underway today from 5 a.m. to noon at Dunkin in Rochelle, where local police are collecting donations for Special Olympics Illinois as part of a statewide effort that has raised more than $11.1 million over 23 years. Officer James Jakymiw said, “We’ll be on top of Duncan here in Rochelle, raising money for the Special Olympics athletes. Folks can come on through, say hi to you, make a donation.” Donors can receive coupons for a free donut or coffee, with proceeds supporting programs for athletes across the state.
