OREGON – The City of Oregon has launched a new Employee Recognition and Awards Program to acknowledge employees who demonstrate exceptional service and dedication. The program includes Departmental Awards, such as the Employee Recognition Coin, as well as a City-wide Employee of the Year and Team of the Year awards.
City Manager Darin DeHaan said that this is just another way to show appreciation for hard work.
“We’re really excited to launch this for both the employees, but also the positive effect it’s going to have on the service to the community as well,” he said.
Employees can be nominated for these awards based on criteria such as outstanding public service, teamwork, efficiency, and contributions to improving city operations. The program also features a Service Awards initiative, recognizing employees for milestones of continuous service, ranging from one year to 40 years. Award recipients will be honored at annual events and will receive various incentives, including cash prizes, plaques, and personal time.
