BYRON — The Rock River Valley Blood Center is holding a blood drive today from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Byron High School, 696 N. Colfax St., Byron, IL 61010. Donors are invited to help support the local blood supply that serves 14 area hospitals. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said that hospitals use blood for a number of life saving uses.
“Local blood donations help keep blood products available close to home for surgeries, trauma care, and ongoing medical treatment,” she said.
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are accepted; donors should bring a photo ID.
