NORTHBROOK — Allstate is planning a homeowners insurance rate hike for its customers next year. The Sun Times reports customers of the Northbrook based company will see rates jump on average of nearly nine-percent. The planned increase was contained in a recent filing with the Illinois Department of Insurance. It is set to begin February 24th and will affect more than 209,000 policyholders.
