CRESTON — The Village of Creston said work on the West Street water main project remains underway after rain last week caused delays. Water service will be shut off at about 8 a.m. Tuesday for homes from Regulators Street to the end of West Street on the south side of the railroad tracks. The outage will affect the first five homes on Regulators Street, two homes on West Street near the subdivision, a home on Beck Road, the apartments at the end of the gravel road past Beck Road and a home on South Creston Road. A boil order will be issued once water service is restored and will remain in effect until water testing confirms it is safe to use. Residents in the affected area are encouraged to have bottled water on hand and complete activities that require water before the shutoff begins. Village officials said the project is intended to improve water quality and safety. After work on West Street is completed, crews will install a new fire hydrant and new valves near Main and Depot streets.
