ROCHELLE – Cut the Square is set for June 19th from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Rochelle with classic cars, food trucks, music, and community activities hosted by the Flagg Township Museum and the Hub City Motor Club. The event will take place in the museum parking lot and will also include a DJ, themed displays, and opportunities to tour the museum. Director Jan Devore said, “It’s the high school thing to do, get in your car and cut the square and there’s 2 different opinions about where the squares actually were cut, but basically 6th, 7th Street up to 38 back down what is now Lincoln Highway and then Lincoln Avenue behind the museum.” The free event encourages residents to take part in a local tradition and enjoy a red, white and blue themed community gathering.
