ROCHELLE — The Rock River Valley Blood Center is holding its Save Our Summer blood drive today at Holcomb Bank, 233 East Illinois 38 in Rochelle, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The center said it provides blood for 14 area hospitals and relies on community donations to maintain supply. Donors will receive a free item from Headon’s Food Truck. Donors are asked to bring a photo ID. Maggie Anderson, Marketing and Recruitment Specialist with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said summer is one of the most critical times for donations due to increased travel and continued medical need.
Anderson said, “We are grateful for everyone who comes out to donate during Save Our Summer. It helps patients and brings awareness to how important summer donations really are.” For more details visit RRVBC.org.
