LEAF RIVER — A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Mt. Morris Road and West Pond Road sent four people to the hospital Saturday around 11:45 a.m. Ogle County Deputies say a 19-year-old Freeport woman driving an SUV failed to stop at a sign on Pond Road and was hit by a southbound van. She was cited for disobeying a stop sign, driving without insurance, and not wearing a seatbelt. The woman was taken to FHN with minor injuries, and three people from the van were taken to Swedish American Hospital. EMS crews from Byron, Leaf River, and Mt. Morris assisted at the scene.
