COMPTON – A second person has died following a crash on June 9th at the intersection of Route 251 and Chicago Road in southern Lee County. The 20-year-old passenger, Kevin Kain of West Brooklyn, died Saturday after being hospitalized from the collision involving a pickup truck and a semi-tractor trailer hauling grain. The 16-year-old pickup driver, Chasity Stavenhagen of Earlville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said the pickup was traveling westbound when it reportedly pulled in front of the northbound semi and was struck. The semi driver, a 62-year-old man from Sublette, was not injured and released at the scene.
