POLO – An opportunity to donate blood will be coming to Polo today. The Rock River Valley Blood Center will be at Crossroads Church from 1 PM – 6 PM, gathering blood products that support 14 area hospitals. During summer, supplies can get dangerously low, especially for specific blood types.
Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said certain donors are crucial for saving lives.
“If your blood type is O negative or O positive, you are especially needed all the time, but really right now, we are struggling to keep our shelves supplied with those blood types.” she said.
Crossroads Church is located at 205 N Jefferson Ave, Polo. Donation times can be reserved at RRVBC.org, but walk-ins are always welcome.
