ROCHELLE — Rochelle Municipal Utilities Water Department will begin an emergency water main replacement at 1st Avenue and Washington Street starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday.. The project will close roads between 6th Street and 2nd Avenue, as well as 6th Street and Main Street, with work expected to finish by the afternoon of Friday, June 20th. Truck traffic will be restricted east of Illinois Route 251 at Washington Street, and drivers are advised to use alternate routes. Signs, barricades, detours, and other traffic controls will be posted around the area, and motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone.
