ROCHELLE — Power has been restored in Rochelle after a broken equipment arm on a power pole along 2nd Avenue caused an outage on Sunday. Authorities say the fault has been cleared, and the issue was linked to temporary changes in the power feed during a water tower painting project. With the project wrapping up this week, the generation plant will return to its main feed, helping to prevent future short, widespread outages. Rochelle Municipal Utilities says normal operations include a dedicated power feed, but a shared backup has been in use during the project.
