OREGON — Shannon Cremeens, assistant principal of Oregon Jr./Sr. High School, has been named the 2026 Illinois Assistant Principal of the Year by the Illinois Principals Association and Horace Mann Companies. The award recognizes assistant principals who make a positive impact on students and their school communities. Cremeens has served as assistant principal for two years and has nine years of experience as a school administrator. She began her career as a school counselor and later served as director of counseling at Oregon High School. Cremeens will be recognized at the Illinois Principals Association Education Leaders Annual Conference in October.
