NIU Student Faces Child Porn Charges

DEKALB –  A 20-year-old NIU student faces child porn charges.  The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation began into Michael Erickson in April after police in Batavia received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.  Police searched his dorm room last month at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.  They collected evidence on multiple electronic devices belonging to Erickson that allegedly contained thousands of images of child sexual abuse material.
