Cortland Board Reviews Solar Garden Proposal

CORTLAND – The Cortland Village Board of Trustees heard a presentation Monday night on a Special Use Permit request from SolarStone Partners to construct and operate a solar energy facility along Route 38, but took no action. The proposal, pending annexation into the town’s agricultural district, includes plans for a 50-foot setback from nonparticipating property lines, panels no taller than 10 feet, and a six-foot fenced enclosure with emergency access and safety signage. The application must include a site plan, interconnection information, ground cover data, environmental review results, and a decommissioning plan, with a building permit required before construction. No action was taken on the Permit on Monday.
