Teen Arrested on Weapon Charges After Ogle County Traffic Stop

MONROE CENTER – A 16-year-old from Freeport was arrested Friday evening after Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop near Kilbuck Road and Crill Road in rural Monroe Center. Following an investigation, the teen was taken into custody on charges including aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition without a Firearm Owner’s Identification card, unlawful possession of a weapon without a FOID, unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of an unserialized firearm. He was later released to a parent.
