(Miami, FL) — Kyle Tucker’s big day lifted the Cubs to a 2-1 win over the Marlins in Miami.
Tucker went three-for-four with a solo home run in the first inning and a single that resulted in the game-winning run crossing the plate in the eighth.
Brad Keller earned the win with one-and-two-third innings of relief and Daniel Palencia locked down his first save of the season. Chicago improved to 30-and-20 with the victory keeping the Cubs atop the NL Central.
Connor Norby drove in Miami’s lone run on a first inning single. Anthony Bender took the loss. Miami dropped to 19-and-29, last in the NL East.
The Cubs are in Cincinnati to begin a 3-game series with the Reds on Friday.
