Byron Looking For New City Administrator

The City of Byron is seeking a new City Administrator following the retirement announcement of Brian Brooks.  Brooks plans to step down later this summer. Brooks, who has held the role since January 2023, previously served as Byron’s first City Administrator in the 1990s after beginning his career there as City Attorney. He left in 2000 for a nearly 20-year tenure with a national affordable housing developer, and later worked with a Chicago nonprofit on low-income housing development. Brooks returned to Byron in 2022 when the city reinstated the administrator position. He has agreed to remain in his role until a successor is hired, with applications open through June 12, and the new administrator expected to begin in July or August.
