CRESTON — The Creston-Dement Public Library will celebrate the grand opening of its new building this morning, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, food, music, and tours of the facility. The new library, which houses nearly 12,000 books, DVDs, and audiobooks, also includes improved storm shelter bathrooms and a larger community room. The $2.2 million project, funded by a bond passed in June 2022, overcame previous challenges including an $800,000 funding gap and a year-long delay. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 201 N Main St, Creston.
