Mt. Morris Water Supply Meets or Exceeds Expectations

MT MORRIS – The public water supply in Mt. Morris meets or exceeds the standards set by the Illinois EPA. Officials say that the village is not on any notice from the Illinois EPA for PFAS or other contaminants in the system. The Illinois EPA monitors water systems statewide, and provides notice to any municipality that has pollutants or other issues with their water supply.

We reported this week that Mt. Morris and Mt. Morris Estates were one of the 47 community water systems that received a notice from the EPA regarding contaminants. That information was incorrect and we regret the error.
