Oregon Blood Donors Needed for RRVBC Drive Today

OREGON — Residents can support area patients by donating blood during a Rock River Valley Blood Center drive today at Oregon United Methodist Church. The drive will run from noon to 5 p.m. at 200 S. Fourth St. The Rock River Valley Blood Center collects and distributes blood products used by hospitals for surgeries, trauma care, cancer treatments and other medical needs. The nonprofit works with volunteer donors throughout the year to maintain the regional blood supply. Maggie Anderson, donor recruiter with the center, said consistent donations are important because blood cannot be made without people willing to give.
