11-Year-Old Charged in Rockford Shooting

ROCKFORD — An 11-year-old boy was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm after allegedly shooting a 13-year-old girl inside a Harlem Boulevard home Saturday evening. The girl was hospitalized for treatment, and the suspect, who was known to her, was taken into custody Monday in Machesney Park and lodged in juvenile detention following a review by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.
